Stormy weather downed trees and damaged property in in Lackawanna County, and in one case, damaged a farm that's been in the same family for generations. The barn at the Sacshe family farm near Moscow was built in the 1800s.

A $100 million bridge project along Interstate 84 and the $24.75 million Elmhurst Dam renovation could revive a 13-year-old plan to create a rail trail through the North Pocono area – even if it takes a while. The North Pocono Rotary Club, Lackawanna River Corridor Association and Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority spearheaded a feasibility study in 2004 to create the North Pocono Greenway Trail along 10-plus miles of conservation land Lackawanna County bought in 1980.

A Pocono Country Place and the Public Safety Department will host a pasta dinner fundraiser from 1 to 8 p.m. Feb. 19 at A Pocono Country Place E-Clubhouse, to benefit Aleksey Dmitriev and the Rutkowski family. In November of 2016, Aleksey Dmitriev's family was involved in a fatal motor vehicle accident on Interstate 80, resulting in the death of his father, Thomas Rutkowski; his younger brother, Sammy Rutkowski, 12; and sister, Andrea Rutkowski, 14. His mother and other sister are recovering from injuries.
